Blending Skids

Fuel Blending & Additive Injection Skids

Lemico blending skids combine fuels and additives at a controlled ratio on one pre-tested package. Pre-packaged skids that meter two or more product streams, or inject additives, at a controlled ratio. Pumps, meters, control valves, mixing and controls are built and tested on one base before shipping.

Also known as in-line blending systems, ratio blending skids, additive injection packages and biodiesel blending skids.

Pump skid in fabrication with electric pump, control valve, meter and hose reels

Accurate blends, every load.

In-line blending measures each stream as it flows and trims the ratio in real time, so product leaves the skid on spec. That avoids tank mixing, rework and off-spec batches.

One package, one supplier.

Lemico builds the pumps, meters, valves, piping, filtration and controls onto one skid. It arrives pressure tested and ready to tie in, which shortens site work and simplifies start-up.

How In-Line Blending Works

Each stream is measured and trimmed in real time, so the blend leaves the skid on spec.

  1. Streams inBase product and blend component or additive.
  2. MeasureA meter on each stream.
  3. ControlControl valves hold the set ratio.
  4. MixStatic mixer or blend header.
  5. On-spec blendTo loading rack, storage or pipeline.

Blending Skid Configurations

In-line ratio blending

Two or more product streams are metered and blended to a set ratio as product moves to loading or storage.

Additive injection

Small, precise doses of additive are injected into a main fuel stream, sized to the flow rate and dose required.

Biodiesel & renewable blending

Blending of biodiesel or renewable diesel into petroleum diesel for terminals, bulk plants and fleets.

Batch & sequential blending

Recipe-driven blending for smaller volumes or several finished products from shared equipment.

Lube & chemical blending

Blending skids for lubricants, glycols, water treatment and other industrial liquids, with materials matched to the product.

Loading rack integration

Blending at the point of loading, tied into loading arms, meters and rack controls for truck and rail.

What Goes on the Skid

  • Flow meters with electronic registers
  • Ratio or flow control valves
  • Static mixer or blend header
  • Strainers and filtration
  • Sample points, check and isolation valves
  • Local control panel and blend controller

Where Blending Skids Are Used

  • Fuel terminals and bulk plants
  • Truck and rail loading racks
  • Biodiesel and renewable diesel blending
  • Refinery and process plants
  • Fleet and industrial fuel yards
  • Lubricant and chemical plants

Fuel Blending & Additive Injection Skid FAQ

Quick answers to common buyer questions.

What is a blending skid?

A pre-packaged system that meters two or more liquids and combines them at a set ratio, with pumps, meters, control valves, mixing and controls built onto one skid base.

What is the difference between in-line and batch blending?

In-line blending combines streams continuously as product flows. Batch blending fills a tank to a recipe and mixes it before use. In-line is usually faster and needs less tankage.

Can a blending skid handle additive injection?

Yes. Additive injection skids dose small, accurate volumes of additive into a main fuel stream, sized to the flow rate and dose rate required.

What do you need for a quote?

The products and ratios, flow rates, accuracy required, operating pressure, where the blend goes (storage, loading rack or pipeline), area classification, power supply and control requirements.
